What the “L”

My name is Sheila but all of my friends call me “Cee Cee.” My aunt nicknamed me that when I was a baby after her favorite Elvis song and it stuck.
During the summer of 2008, my partner Laura and I had a private committment ceremony and she now legally carries my last name.  We have two daughters, Stephanie who is 23 years old and Jenna who is 12. The oldest has a 3 year old daughter who we absolutely adore for she has captured our hearts. Lucy (smooth coat terrier) and Vinnie (yellow headed amazon parrot) complete our family.

I have been writing “What the L” for three years. When  I was initially approached about writing for West Virginia Queer News, I had my doubts. Even though I am passionate about writing I have never done anything like this before and needless to say it has been an adventure.

I have grown to love it and so very glad I accepted the opportunity when Terry so graciously offered it to me.

I would like to thank you all for your continued support, you have no idea how much I do appreciate you all taking time out of your busy day to read my column, without you, “What the L” simply would not exist so again; thank you.

My goals regarding “What the L” are simple, I hope to reach you all and make you think about the issues that concern us all in the GLBT community.

You may smile, you may cry, you may get angry at me.        If you  ever have an idea for a future column, please do not hesitate to write me, I am open to all suggested topics.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

~Cee~
